Mayor Sal, Cape Verde, called on China's investment in the tourism sector of the island
Sal, Cape Verde, 27 June - The Mayor of Salt, Jorge Figueiredo, encouraged the vice minister of Commerce, who visited the island, to support investments in terms of tourism, news agency cable Inforpress Verde.
The Chinese delegation, headed by Vice Minister of Commerce of that country, Jiang Yaoping, paid a visit to Salt with a view to making an exploration in the area of tourism.
The mayor of Sal took the presence of the Chinese ruler to appeal in the sense that Asian country to take the island tour not only attract Chinese investors to develop tourism in Cape Verde but also encourage the arrival of tourists to the archipelago and the Sal
The mayor thanked the intention of China to support the country, specifically the island of Sal, in shaping the future of Santa Maria High School, according to Jorge Figueiredo, may allow the assembly of a strategy training on the island, Santa Maria, ranging from the pre-school and post secondary education, particularly in tourism.
In retrospect, the Mayor emphasized the fact that Sal is the first island of the archipelago to have major infrastructure in the tourism sector, which achieved greater development in the decade of 90/2000 - in the last 20 years - and presented in Cape Verde a growth rate of GDP, more than two digits.
The delegation also includes the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr Francis Tam Pak Yuen, and about 40 businessmen from China and Macau.
