Entrepreneurs from China and Macau starting Thursday business visit to Cape Verde

Praia, Cape Verde, 21 June - A delegation of China integrating politicians and businessmen will visit Macao to Cape Verde Thursday and Friday, in relations of economic and technical cooperation between the two countries, media reports said Cape Verde.

The mission is headed by Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Yaoping, and comprises the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr Francis Tam Pak Yuen, and about 40 businessmen from China and Macau.

The visit aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as promoting the role of Macao as a trade and economic platform of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cape Verde said explained that the visit comes in two parts, an official with contacts between members of two governments that will culminate with the signing of five agreements on projects in the areas of Education, Renewable Energy, Water and Health and other business, covering business in China, Macau and Cape Verde, in order to promote and facilitate trade between the two countries.

Also according to the statement, the delegation will depart for the island of Sal in 24 days, which will have the opportunity to prospect for tourism.

The relations of cooperation and friendship between Cape Verde and China date back to the Cape Verdean national independence, which occurred 35 years ago.
