Portuguese business people travel to Cape Verde seeking business deals

Lisbon, Portugal, 21 April – Representatives of 8 Portuguese companies from the wooden
construction materials sector are due to arrive in Cape Verde as part of a mission organised by the Association of Wood and Furniture Industries of Portugal (AIMMP), the association said in a statement.

According to the statement, the companies, which manufacture and sell kitchens, doors, floors and wooden houses, plan to introduce their turnkey solutions to Cape Verde, particularly to the hotel sector.

Funded by the National Strategic Reference Framework (QREN), the Interwood internationalisation project for Cape Verde includes “setting up business meetings with Cape Verdean businesspeople, as well as visits to points of sale and real estate projects.”

Cape Verde is “a country whose economy is focused on the services sector, particularly tourism, and in this area has new tourist investment projects,” and the “Portuguese wood and furniture sector (...) is available to respond to the needs in this field,” said Fernando Rolin, chairman of AIMMP.
