Number of passengers at airports in Cape Verde increased 11.2% in 2011

The number of passengers in airports and aerodromes in Cape Verde increased 11.2% in 2011, rising from 1.6 million to 1.78 million, reported in Praia National Airports Company and Aviation Safety (ASA).

According to data released, international traffic grew 20.8% while the household increased only 2.8%, and, moreover, was the first time since ASA began to publish statistics of passenger traffic and cargo the country's airports, the number of international passengers (901,000) exceeded that of domestic passengers (882,000).

Sal Airport handled 576,000 passengers, 364,000 international (+12.1%) and 212 000 domestic (-1.7%) from the beach and the airport came in second with 528,000 passengers, 231,000 international (+ 4.6%) and 297 000 households (+5.2%).

At the airport Amilcar Cabral, Thomsonfly was the airline that carried more international passengers to / from the island of Sal (75,000 passengers), followed by TAP - Air Portugal (69,000) and Cape Verdean airline TACV (55000) .

At the airport of Praia, TACV led the international carriage of passengers with 146,000 which was followed by TAP - Air Portugal (67,000) and TAAG Angola Airlines (10 000).
