Two-thirds of the new package of U.S. aid to Cape Verde will be invested in water and sanitation

Two-thirds of the 66.2 million dollars from the second aid package from the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA), funded by the U.S., will be applied in the water sector and sanitation, said Tuesday in the city Beach Prime Minister of Cape Verde.

Neves stated that about 40 million dollars from the second stimulus package, whose agreement will be signed Friday in the Cape Verdean capital, will be used to capture water and quality analysis of the water consumed in the country as well as improving of distribution management and marketing.

"Nearly two thirds of the resources of the second package will help the MCA to water resources, which will have an enormous impact not only on institutional reforms but also in improving our ability to mobilize and manage water," he said.
