Sector of games of chance in Cape Verde have commitments

Mindelo, Cape Verde, 15 July - The Inspector General Game of Cape Verde, José Augusto Cardoso, said Thursday there have Mindelo entrepreneurs interested in investing in casinos and gambling houses in the country.

"There is not licensed because the local government has not launched a competition to award grants of gaming areas, but there are already expressions of interest by nationals and foreigners who want to operate in this sector," added José Augusto Cardoso.

According to Cape Verdean press, these statements were given by the Inspector General during a visit to the island of St. Vincent to make a public presentation of the inspection service game and also the law that the exercise of practice games luck and fortune.

The law, passed in July 2010, sets out five areas of games allowed on a permanent basis, Santiago, Sal, Sao Vicente, Maio and Boavista, and the other islands will need a special permit and provisional for the opening of casinos.

The law also stipulates that the operation of games of chance can only be developed in amusement arcades or casinos in integrated tourism projects of four or more stars of the game and the business will be required to pay a 10% tax on gross income collected and will have a special legal regime.
