Cape Verde wants to diversify the tourism offer and attract Asian Market
Cape Verde wants to diversify the tourism product beyond the sun and sea and conquer new markets like Asia and South America, said today the vice president of the Young Entrepreneurs Association (AJECO).
Speaking to AFP on the sidelines of the Congress of Lusophone Entrepreneur, which runs until Saturday at the Customs Port, Frantz Tavares said that diversification of tourism is a priority to give more reasons for tourists to visit the archipelago. "The actors in the tourism and the Government see that there is a need to differentiate the tourist product and go beyond the sun and sea, different options in relation to other destinations," said vice president of AJECO, giving the example of rural tourism and cultural.
For the representative of the businessmen of Cape Verde, "the tourism sector still has much to grow," adding that the intention is to concurrently achieve diversify the source markets of tourists, mostly from England and Portugal.
"We are very focused on the European market and want to diversify into new markets such as Asia and Latin America," he said.
Frantz Tavares found that the relationship of Cape Verde to Portugal "is increasing", highlighting the interest in further strengthening ties with other Lusophone countries, "a market of some importance globally."
More than a hundred young entrepreneurs from Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Portugal and discuss business opportunities between the Portuguese-speaking countries until Saturday at the Port Customs Building.
