Cabo Verde Móvel is one of the companies competing for mobile 3G license in Cape Verde
Lisbon, Portugal, 10 Feb – Cape Verdean mobile phone company Cabo Verde Móvel is one of the three companies competing for a third generation mobile phone license in the West African archipelago, the Portugal Telecom group, which controls 40 percent of the Cabo Verde Telecom group said in Lisbon.
"CV Móvel on 31 January handed in its application proposal as part of the tender for the third generation (3G) operating license, for mobile communications," a statement from the Portuguese operator said.
The companies in the running for the license are CV Móvel, T+ and Cabo TLC.
The tender was launched in –august, 2010 and ended on the last day of January. Its result is due to be published in March.
Cape Verde had around half a million mobile network subscribers.
