Cape Verde airline interested in flying between Bissau and Lisbon

Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, 5 Jul - The president of the Airline of Cape Verde (TACV), Antonio Neves, admitted Monday in Bissau, the possibility of the company make regular connecting flights between Bissau and Lisbon.

"There is interest on our part and the authorities of Guinea-Bissau," said Antonio Neves, to take stock of five-day visit for contacts with the Guinean authorities.

The president said TACV not the date on which the company will begin connecting flights between Bissau and Lisbon, but said "all indications are that will happen in the near future," especially by the openness shown by the Guinean authorities.

The official noted that Cape Verde TACV is in Guinea-Bissau since 1992, and that even during the civil war of 1998/99, did not leave the country.

Currently, the company connects Bissau Cape Verde to the city of Praia, with stops in Senegal, five days a week.

TACV addition, only operating in Guinea-Bissau to Senegal Air Lines linking Dakar to Bissau, and TAP - Air Portugal, which connects the Guinean capital to Lisbon three times a week.
