Spain will support Cape Verde in the production of economic statistics and environment
Praia, Cape Verde, 1 June - The National Statistics Institute (INE) Cape Verde signed Tuesday with his counterpart in Spain a cooperation protocol which will allow the strengthening of institutional capacity in the areas of economic statistics and environment, said the Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress.
The agreement, which formalizes an already existing cooperation, provides support in changing the base year of national accounts through the system of accounts for 2008 as the United Nations recommendation expressed this international organization.
Speaking to the agency, the President of INE, António Duarte, extolled the importance of this partnership for the NSA and the National Statistical System as a whole, having said that this support Cape Verde will be able to proceed with the production of quarterly accounts, regional accounts and environmental statistics.
In addition to technical support in performing these statistical operations, the cooperation agreement also provides for the issue of training.
At this point, the NSA technicians are already benefiting from training and is also prepared a work plan for the next three years, providing technical missions of experts from INE to Spain to support Cape Verde in the different areas already identified
